About Us
Meet Bonnie Daneker
Founder and President, The Author’s Greenhouse
Even as a young girl, I knew the power of storytelling. I’d started sashaying around the block, interviewing our neighbors, at the tender age of 4: I was eager to hear their news so I could retell it to others, and my audience loved what they heard! My first official by-lined news article, about the new teen center in town, was published 10 years later, and seeing my name in print had me hooked. As a college student, I never wavered in my choice of major (journalism), then honed my craft working as a reporter, marketer, and author. I later founded a full-service literary consultancy and transmedia company called Write Advisors, which assisted non-fiction writers achieve the dream of publishing for nearly a decade.
In publishing, we use tremendous amounts of paper and ink, and my interest in protecting those resources led me to learn more about healthy business for People, Planet, and Profit® and earn the ISSP-SA Certification from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP). It gave me great pleasure to write about those subjects through my company WasteLine, serving the food and fashion industries.
After writing and publishing my 10th book, I realized how important it was to get back to the basics of writing and storytelling. Prospects and former clients kept calling for literary counsel, so I founded a new company, Write Along With You, in 2018. Most recently, we rebranded as The Author’s Greenhouse to reflect our relocation to the Midwest and illuminate my broadened focus to include more elements of sustainability in our practice and project choices guiding both fiction and non-fiction writers. We are also enhancing our consulting offerings to include the topics of leveraging your content (content extension), author development, and the business of writing.
Originally from Wadsworth, OH, I am currently based in Dallas, TX by way of Atlanta (where I spent more than half my life). Other cities I’ve lived in include Mexico City, New York City, Chicago, Cleveland, and Columbus. Yes, I am a Buckeye and will watch college football most Saturdays in the fall.
